Originally an artist, I studied etching in Paris at Hayter's Atelier 17 after receiving my Bachelors in Studio Art at UCDavis. Soon after, I earned my Masters in Art with an emphasis in printmaking and photography. Some years later I returned to school to earn another degree in Math and Computer Science.
Over thirty years I’ve been an Artist, AudioVisual Producer, Software Engineer and Technical Writer. I’ve worked in educational media and the social sciences, for structural and transportation engineers and in the field of computer technology. I've even had a turn as an editor and layout artist / typesetter for a small poetry press.
I took up creative writing to fill the artistic gaps while working with computer technology. I studied from a series of wonderful poets and writers living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Poems of mine have appeared in anthologies and on the web. My essays, short fiction and a recently written novel have yet to be printed on any thing other than a home printer.
When I haven't been busy with work and creative pursuits, I've helped found a free meals program and homeless shelter, served on the Board of Directors for non-profit organizations, traveled to far away places and served as a ranch guide at a nature preserve.
Today, though I still do original works on paper, I also use a Nikon digital camera, a WACOM Intuos pen and the Adobe Creative Suite: Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign to create new media pictures and books.
I've recently returned home to California after a short sojourn in Central Florida. Look for updates happening to this website and others yet to come.
